ipod touch-brilliant !

After drooling over the i-phone when it was launched, who didn’t ?, I was one of the many people who simply couldn’t justify the cost, I like contracts at a fraction of the i-phone tarifs.

Anyway, I waited and waited, then the new 3G i-phone appeared, then there was talk of pay as you go, so I waited some more, then I saw the pay as you go cost, so I bought… an ipod touch !

Well it’s brilliant, I bought mine from the apple re-furb store, if you haven’t visited the apple re-furb store before, it’s ace. It’s where apple sell off all their old stock and such like, prior to new kit being released. I bought mine with a whopping 40% discount on new cost, so it cam in at just over £100, bargain. I have it synced with the mac and my e-mail accounts, so as long as i’m either at home, or near a wi-fi hopt-spot, I can do everything an i-phone can (except make calls…). But I wanted a quick and easy way to check my e-mails when at home, or on the go and this is just fantastic. It boots up in seconds, and I can check my mail instantly to see if anyone is trying to get in touch. This is great as I don’t want to miss out on a fun design job, or piece of nice 3d design because I missed my e-mails.

I’ve started to really like the auto spell checker as you type on the tiny touch screen keyboard. It’s far too easy to hit the wrong letter if you type at any speed but the ipod software sorts out the grammar on the fly which means you can get quite speedy at typing. All I can say is if you can’t stand the thought of the cost of an i-phone, the ipod touch is a great alternative provided you don’t want to make any calls !
